France is one of the most terrorist attacked countries in the world. French counter-terrorism investigators in Southern France arrested 12 suspects in sweeps against suspected Islamic militant networks. Three of the 12 men were linked to a network recruiting fighters for Afghanistan. The roundups were part of two different counter terrorism cases that were under investigation by French judges. In one of the counter terrorism sweeps, one of the officials said they had seized firearms. In addition to France, all of Europe has stepped up terrorist alert. Americans have been cautioned while traveling in Europe.
