Tensions Rise around Ancient Temple
"Forty Thai troops came to Cambodia yesterday," said a Cambodian official though the Thai military declined. The disagreement between Phnom Penh and Bangkok was about which country owns the Preak Vihear temple. Cambodian troops were warned that the Thai troops entered their territory. Kanok Netakawesana, a major general said, "We have not violated their territory." Cambodia had arrested three Thais for trespassing on the border around the temple.
