One of the most horrific events that ever happened in history was the 2010 Haiti earthquake. It was of 7.0 magnitudes, killing over 220,000 people. This earthquake destroyed and knocked down buildings, power lines, and homes. Over 180,000 homes were left uninhabitable. Also about 60% of the government infrastructures were destroyed. Since this event happened, there have been 59 after shocks from this single most devastating event. The after shocks are really strong they ranged from 4.2 to 5.9 in magnitude. It can take up to 14 billion dollars to repair the damaged areas in Haiti's. In addition, about 1,500,000 people are living in tent cities. This Horrible event took place on January 12th, 2010. A catastrophe like this makes me reflects on how fortunate we are.
