According the Genesee County sheriff Robert Pickell, an inmate who worked in the kitchen in Michigan was caught trying to give a serial stabbing suspect, Elias Abuelazam a poisoned apple after the two had altercations. The fellow inmate who worked in the kitchen tried to poison the other inmate by spraying an apple with oven degreaser and another poison component. Luckily for the other prisoner, the apple never made it out of the kitchen and he never took a bite. The prisoner Abuelazam is a suspect in 18 stabbings in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia where five of the attacks were fatal. He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
