On Tuesday, September 7, 2010, football player Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints was denied of the status of his Heisman trophy. Heisman Trust has yet to decide if they will strip Bush of the award by the end of the month. The University of Southern California (USC) Trojans, Bush’s college football team disassociated themselves from him because they recently discovered that he was accepting money and gifts from sports agents while in college. That was a violation of the team. If the committee to move forward with the decision, he would be the first player in 75 years to have the trophy taken away. When the Heisman Trust takes away the honor of the trophy it will be vacant for that year. But, Bush made an announcement to give up the hard earned award on his own.
