There was a tragedy on April 20, 2010 where an oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. Many fish were killed in this disaster. Some men working on the rig were also injured. National Guard troops were sent to carry out clean-up operations. 60,000 barrels were poured onto the beach. That is al lot of oil to clean. A cap that was secured on the well seemed to be working, that’s a very good sign. It didn’t help the birds though. They still are being affected by this accident. I think this is a terrible thing. Many animals and people were harmed. Thank goodness this is fixed.
