If you see this spider, run in the other direction! The spider we are going to be talking about today is the Brown Recluse Spider. This spider is part of the Loxosceles (pronounced lox-sos-a-leez) group. The recluse spider is called the "fiddle back" spider or "violin" spider. They are called that because of the mark on its back looks like a violin. The spider is very poisonous.

Billie Ball from Fort Worth, Texas came across a recluse spider. She was bitten nine months ago and could feel the affects immediately. “I had full organ failure,” she told the news station. “My kidneys failed, I was on dialysis.” She was in a coma for three months. Doctors finally had to amputate her right foot. They amputated it right above her ankle. The brown recluse spider is most common in the south and central parts of the U.S. They are most commonly found in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, eastern Texas, and Oklahoma. If you are ever exposed to one, you should call 911(that is if you live in the U.S.)
