The World's Smallest Horse. Thumbelina is a five-year-old pony standing 17in.tall, who recieved the title of the world's smallest horse in the Guinness Book of Records. Her owners breed miniature horses, but not as small as Thumbelina. The ponys they breed weigh about 250lbs and reach as tall as 34in. The height between a pony and a horse is 14.2hands. When Thumbelina was born she only weighed 8lb. and she only grew to 60lb. Normal horses usually live up to 35yrs.,but because Thumbelina is so small, she may only live up to 17yrs.
