About 500 hundred birds fell onto a Louisiana highway on Monday. This event has led to the saying as ‘the end of days’, but a federal agency stated that mass bird die offs are not that rare. The birds found near the Louisiana highway were red winged birds. This species of birds are the most known birds in the United States. There population is estimated at about 200 million birds! Some of these red winged birds will be tested at the National Wildlife health Center. Some people say that the birds might have flown into a near by pool, two dozen of the birds suffered from neck, back and beak injuries ouch! Almost 50 dead birds were found near a power line 30 to 40 feet away from the Louisiana highway. Experts say that the birds might have just gotten scared and ran into another bird or accidentally hit a power line. Most of the injuries were in the breast tissue of the birds. I think 500 birds falling from the sky are outrageous OKN.
