90% decline in shark population.

Sharks are one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. They sometimes mistake humans as food, but according to researchers, most attacks are mistaken identity. This does not justify what is happening to the shark population. The world's shark population has declined by 90%. One of the largest reasons for this is what is known as shark fining. Shark fining is when fisherman catch sharks, kill them and cut off their fins. Their bodies are sometimes thrown back into the water or brought back to shore for other uses. The fins are used for shark fin soup, which is a popular dish in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Because the shark is the top predator in the ocean, this whole process will affect the whole ocean ecosystem. This is NOT illegal!! Can you believe that??
