The goose girl is a story based on a fairy tale by the warner brothers. The adaption is written by Shannon Hale and is about crown princess Ani-Dori, who has the power to speak to birds.
Then she is betrothed to a prince across the forest. When riding through the forest she experiences mutiny and is told to run by her guards.
Assuming all who cared for her died, she goes into city to see what has happened. She arrives at the palace without much hope and discovers her lady in waiting has taken her place.
She then begins to work there as a goose girl under the name of Isi, and falls in love with someone far out of her new league.
Unfortunately many pass it up as just a fairy tale, but it is a story of love, trust and betrayal, and is a favorite of mine, even beating Harry Potter and Twilight.
